life is full of them

i chose the healthier of the two - a burrito bowl w/chicken. i think i am okay with that decision, but have had moments of regret.

new tracks
some know i like any music with a sitar. it draws many a blank stare when i play it in my car. thanks to my friend arnold I heard of some great music that is much needed right now. Artist: Aradhna Album: Amrit Vani
quote from their site: “the group captures the beauty and dignity of india’s bhajan devotional melodies with music that blends east and west.”

reference points
Every-time i travel I hit a wall at some point. it’s not about being tired. it’s not about hotel rooms or sleeping in a bed that isn’t yours. it’s about being lonely. i am in one of the most crowded cities in America and I feel alone.
Alone isn’t all bad per say - it is needed even. However I find that emotion/feeling has more opportunity to dictate one’s...
booh hiss
so i just walked down the street so I could take this picture and show the world that I don’t like rodeo drive. I spent like $3,000 in 45 minutes to show them that I don’t like it.
kidding.

divergent doohickies
On any given day anyone can experience extremes of such divergent ideas thanks to the variety of mediums that are now available. For example - “America’s Next Top Model” lurks a few stations away from a show about kids in Africa. They both are both starving, buts thet’s all they have in common. the list could go on and on.
How does one piece together a world view that...
roy goes green

harsh
I have to admit my last post was a little harsh. I am not a fan of self when I get all “one up-sy” - however I am still in favor of the book being crap. In most cases someone should say - “I should read that book so I have a position to critique, etc”….I would do that with a Nietzsche book or something like the Da Vinci Code but I wouldn’t do it in the case of a...
the shack is crap
it may be a good read but doctrinally you should dookie on it. here is a better review than I would attempt to write. - Link -
To be honest I havent read it - I will put that out there, and take the criticism for it.
however I amazed once again by the christian peeps out there that endorse shallow theology for a feel good read. catalyst conference is even having the author speak - that erks...
how's your health

options
a full moon to my right. camelback mountain range on my left. and there i sit in between at a fancy resort in the middle of the night with a series of pools and waterfalls all around wondering if my contentment for this stage of life is based on circumstance. tis the question as I am pondering some things that I will be speaking about in the months to come. do I have a fervor for life because...
first leg
the first leg of travel is going quite nice…..a pretty sweet locale. not time for much leisure however hope to fit a few visits at the pool.
outie
roy is headed out for a few days (almost a month). I hope to post some cool pics from some of travel spots and keep in touch while i am gone. wouldn’t mind if you keep me in your prayers, lots of time alone can be really good or really bad. much love.

open closed minded people
i find that open minded people are typically closed minded about closed minded people. thus making them close minded also.
stereotypes coming;
Person A - word traveller, “open minded”, welcoming of different cultures
Person B - stays close to home, likes what they like, doesn’t eat sushi
Person A typically thinks less of person B. I am sometimes both persons. i think that...

nutssss about analysis and paralysis
every once in a while I feel like i lose the capacity of linear thinking. where a task presents itself in full - meaning - every aspect to the task represents itself as equally important, urgent, and needing be done before another. that said, everything must be approached at a linear level in order to work it to completion (like the pun - ‘in order’). I find that the macro-scale of...

illi servire est regnare and toilet paper
latin for “to be his is slave is to be king.”
I have been slave of other things….thinking myself a/the king I indeed have become a slave.
I often call the laziest act of all bachelors is to fail to put the next roll of toilet paper on the dispenser. We often just put it on top of the toilet, balance it on the dispenser itself or just put it on the ground. We fail to recognize...

tonight (pics)
50 yds from the gates we realized we had forgotten a ticket at home….there was no way to get into the show, roy & dave were sad, very sad
……until, the most random thing. we overheard a man saying something about not wanting to go and just to give his ticket away, I gladly put in a word for it. 5 minutes later it was mine….all of a sudden Dave and I were sitting just a...
all these blinky lights
i woke up in a funk. some reason i don’t know why. i had a good day ahead of me - in this case Las Vegas, meeting with great work prospects and getting to do the things I like - network, sale, marketing, talk to people, etc - but i still wasn’t all that jazzed. i needed to read the gospel. and i did, and i enjoyed my day. the gospel contextualizes everything else. i don’t...
"come on 7's"
headed to vegas for a few days, got some work going down - should be good stuff. just was in houston and I it’s actually growing on me - despite the weather. the culture always suprises me.
htown
the curse was lifted today along (aka the humidity). atlanta like weather this satruday, going to be a great wedding. I will post a pic of a peacock or two - they are walking all around the wedding grounds.

is a question with no answer really a question?
(is this one of those?)
I have no freakin clue why this thought is in my mind -along with the lyrics - those apple bottom jeans and them boots with the fur…..”
home
sorda strange to go eat Taco Cabana with the ‘rents’ at 10pm on a Wed night - but that was the scene. for you GA folk its pretty much a Tex Mex place that stays open 24hrs - one in Midtown Atlanta strangely enough, most people dont know about it. I am at The Chelsea now, perhaps one of the coolest coffee/wine bars around. Vintage leather furniture with tacky paintings and...
