do it
when you can’t take integrity into a conversation you tend to avoid that conversation all together. that’s what i see in my life, at my office, and with my friends. when you have done all you could and still failed, even that call is easier to make then some half-ass delivery attempt of some product/service/promise. own it. do it. you have the choice to love it. ideas without action...

some things beg you to question the questions you...
i question the things i question. is it worth further investigation on the basis that I have a question? perhaps answers to questions about questions are more important than the answers to the initial question at hand. thoughts exploring my own soul as I sift through pleasures and pain experienced.

when the light bulb goes off
it’s fun to see it. it’s the ‘chicken and the egg’ on what caused it to happen per say - however I saw it today. the bulbs went off. we had a few clients/prospects fly in from all over to listen to a concept/product/value proposition and they got it. it was amazing to see them run with the ideas and possibilities such an idea posed to their world. we asked questions. we...

have to admit
sometimes i would rather not talk. rather not confront the struggles you or I are going through and bring them to the table. lets just sweep them under the rug, add some embellishments and call it a day.

your process is broke jack
I have thought about ‘processes’ alot lately, lots in the last 48hrs especially. you know, the term that means something has to get done and we put this ‘process’ in place so that it does in deed get done. we do this both personally and professionally and I think it makes sense to make sense of things holistically - meaning if it applies at work it applies at home too. vice...

'make you my bitch'
on my run yesterday I wanted to stop running about 9 minutes short of my goal. my mind/soul and body were at war of sorts. i am finding that my body dictates too much. my soul’s interaction with outside elements starts first with the body. if my soul is shut out by my body’s desire to do what it wants/craves/hates/loves then surely my soul will follow to despair. all that to stay i...

truth dies | friends don't let friends be lame
truth is the first casualty when emotions go to war with reason. or so it is in my decision making process if I am honest with self. I have tendencies. i have faults. many of them. i must understand and allow the people around me to understand these tendencies and faults so I don’t develop a history of emotions ruling my life. if emotions rule my life i will become uber-lame (and a...

content kings & queens | a dumb ass defined
my generation, call it born between 1978 and present day for the sake of this conversation, have had access to all kinds of content. no person in humanity has been able to access this much content. while conventional wisdom would say this is an advantage, and I agree due to my wiring, but there are exceptions called ‘amputations’ that need to be processed. Marshall McLuhan discussed...

why?
science may have the answer to how, but not why. (not to say all these answers are sufficient, but they are statements claiming to be answers) that something exists versus nothing existing at all is not a question science can answer nor by definition is it supposed to. however, many people think how and why go hand in hand rather than hand and foot in the body of knowledge.

My friends are cooler than yours
let’s face it, roy has the coolest friends on the face of the earth. not only are they cool but most are super talented and passionate. some need help, as we all do. it’s my job to help them and vice versa. accomplishment for accomplishment sake sucks. however when in the context of community the passion is contagious. when I can aid someone along in their vision it makes my day....

reason 7 i love xcentric
one reason i love xcentric is because i get access to people with more experience than i. both in life and business. i work with accountants. most people are like - “dood, that must be boring.” and it is sometimes. some are pretty lame. that can be said of all professions, even rock stars. it’s always cool to hang out with a business owner. you get to hear good stories of all...

philosophy as it applies to technology
Change is inevitable, however so are choices. Developing a technology plan that involves a delta factor is necessary to keep up with the present pace of this world. There will be something “new” this year, rest assured. Something that improves your processes that was incomprehensible ten, or perhaps even two, years ago will hit the market. That said, the temptation to adopt this “new” system...

getting rid of birds' nests
i woke up with an unrest this morning. it is a strong sentiment. i have played out a few conversations in my head and in all of them I have lost my cool. i have to realize the consequences of; it’s okay if a bird land in yourr hair, so long as it doesn’t make a nest there. (i think John Calvin said this) so the saying goes. i am aware of the nest right now and I am clamoring to get...
